WHANAU/FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER
We are looking for someone to work in a support role with families and individuals in the Otamatea/Kaipara district. You will be working as part of a team in one of the district’s largest social service agencies which currently provides Parent Coaching, Financial Mentoring and Counselling services. This role will be part-time with some flexibility around days of work. You will be familiar with NGO government contracts and the expected targets and accountability regarding records of time spent with people requiring support.
The person we are looking for will have a mature caring and responsible nature and genuinely embrace our commitment to Maori and Pasifika people within our community.
Your role will include helping whanau to create a safe nurturing home environment and supporting them to plan for their futures. You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team environment which values the support of each other and the wider community service network.
The successful candidate will have:
• Sound understanding and practice relating to issues of domestic violence, parenting and care and protection
• Previous experience working with vulnerable families
• Administrative and organisational skills
• Flexible attitude and 'can do' approach
• High level of self-awareness
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Full driver's license
• Will be required to undergo Police check
