Happy New Year to everyone, we hope you had a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas time. Hopefully everyone has found the weather to their liking – It doesn’t always suit all – depending on the circumstances i.e. farming, beach house, or whatever the situation – but the general feeling about the Community House has been one of delight at the summer days, and even with all doors and windows thrown open we are finding it very very hot as I write this in the middle of January.
We are in the process of planning improvements to the front of the Community House grounds in order to make access easier and more convenient for everyone. We have drawings which we hope will be on display for viewing very soon.
As we opened for the new year we were excited to welcome our new Family /Whanau Support Worker who will be a valuable member of the team and provide her experience and expertise to clients. Also we had three more volunteers join us over the past year- we are growing all the time.
This new year sees us join the rest of the world in ‘social media’ with a Facebook page. It is such a popular medium and we are pleased to be able to provide information this way as well as in our website and this local newspaper.
The mini-bus has been well used by the community and we will be taking it to Whangarei for a shopping trip on the 4th Wednesday of the month which is the 28th. Please phone the House to let us know if you intend to come 09 431 9080.
